The short version of “About Me”
I started blogging sometime in 2006 mainly to dabble into the world of web development. I have no prior experience in anything web development and actually, I know nothing about setting up my own website. My job then (and even up to now) is mainly on client-server technologies and I felt I needed to tech myself something about web.
I started blogging about life but it wasn’t only lately that I realized that nobody really cares about what is going on with my life (aside from the fact that we don’t really need to announce every little thing about us to the world). I then decided to put up this site to list down bits of things that I learn everyday. Call it technical notes to myself.
Sorry, folks! Don’t flatter yourself that I am writing things here for you. It’s primarily for me but of course, it’s also for you. At the same time, I also realized that I’m not really good at anything at all. Yeah, sometimes I can do this and sometimes that, but really, I am not an expert in anything. But I’m hoping that my notes will help me improve my craft and to remember some techniques that escapes me on my ‘senior moments’. Actually, it already helped me several times since ‘senior moments’ becomes frequent already.
Below are some of the things you may expect here.
- WordPress – I’m an enthusiasts. I create themes and plugins. However, I don’t release/distribute them because I don’t have time for the support that it will entail. But in the future, I try to release themes and plugins.
- PHP/CSS/AJAX/JQuery – these are the things I use to develop WordPress themes and plugins
- Query Optimization (oracle/sybase/sql server)
- Maintaining a VPS/LAMP Stack – I hardly know *nix commands doing things myself helps
There might by occasional C++ posts here and there since it is needed in my current project in the office(I needed to learn to program in C++) and maybe Siebel if things go well.
